New KoTiX rom V1.0 for the PX5 Android 6.01 MTC devices!

The first version of my custom ROM for MTC headunits is finally ready to be released.
It took me a lot of time to develope it and I'm sorry for the delay but it's finally here!!

The ROM is based on latest February 2018 original MTC firmware and just like my s160 rom, i wanted to make something that is not modified only in the functionality but that it has also an actractive look, different from the original style and different from the other custom firmwares available on xda./center

So I modified the Status bar using the Nougat icons, the left title is always enabled and have a shine effect. The clock is bigger and can be set on left, center or right position.
All the icons can be enabled/disabled from the Settings->Display->Statusbar menu.

 I modified the HCT Launcher3 creating my own version of it, the "Launcher3X":

The left Bar buttons can be changed from the Settings->Display->Left bar menu, choosing from a variety of number and type.
This bar can be also enabled in other screens like Radio, Music, etc..

I modified the standard HCT widgets and created some other smaller ones to have more combinations.
The clock widgets has been resized too to match the Launcher3X resolution.

Radio player, Bluetooth interface, BT audio screen, Music player, FileManager, the Screensaver has been skinned.
In the Radio interface i added a button to set the frequency by numeric keyboar. The RDS text is all screen wide for a better reading.
The Music player can pause during a phone call and restart playing when call end. The Playlist view is bigger and the new layout let you see the albumart whle showing the playlist.
The screensaver has "digital + analogue" or "only digital" view (Hold the finger to switch them).
I changed the system fonts with LandRover/Jaguar style ones but they can be changed in the settings too.
The ROM comes pre-rooted, with xposed preinstalled and with latest gapps preloaded.

ROM UNLOCK

I added a security check to my rom to prevent the unhautorized installation based on the serial number check. After the purchase i will ask you the first 6 digits of the serial number:

I will give you back an unlock.txt file that you have to  put in the same sdcard or USB disk that you use for flashing, toghether with the update.img file of the ROM.

At the first boot the file will be copied inside the unit and will check the validity of the code.
If this file is missing or invalid, well... you know... you'll not be allowed to use the ROM. ;)

Right now is avaailable only the 1024*600 android 6.01 version of the rom. The 800*480 and android 8 versions will come later on.

S160 KoTiX ROM 06.11.2017 (06.09.2017 fw base) with new Launcher3X

Here is again  new version of my S160 Customized ROM.
This time I bring you a brand new Launcher for our S160 that i called it Launcher3X:

I re-organized the layout of some of the settings making a new "NAVIMODS" menu that group all the main modifications that i did:

In System Mods you can find 3 other subcategories:
The "KoTiX Modifications" with some new options like the "LCD density" and "SDcard Hack".
The usual Music Visualizer for the notification panel and S160Keys.

The Display & Mods option is now a more standard "Display" only option.
Here i added the Font Type changer app so you can have some fun choosing the one you prefer.

KoTiX S160 ROM UNLOCK INSTRUCTIONS

To avoid sharing of my hard work, i added a security check in the ROM.

To unlock the security check in my ROM please provide me your unit model number (M***).

To know it simply go in Settings->System information screen on your unit.

In the picture you can see it’s a M171 model.

Once you tell me your model number i'll send you a file with the unclock code that you will need to add in the folder WINCACFG on sdcard before flashing the rom.

If you try to run the rom without the unlock file or with the wrong code you will see a picture like this:

Roadnav S160 customized and skinned ROM (31/12/2016 updated to 17/01/2017)

A new version of my custom rom is available under my "Gdrive pine tree" :D
UPDATE 17.01.2017:Full rom with all previous updates included is available now
UPDATE 13.01.2017: an even newer update is ready now as a Flashfire zip package (update_for_31.12.2016.zip). This update is intended to be used as an update of the 31/12 version (i'll not be responsable if you use it in other rom versions).
The update contain:
- a new base firmware dated 24 December
- Radio Stations listed by station RDS name
- Sligthly changed graphic in carsettings screens (Audio, SWC)
- S160keys fix

November 2016 - S100 skinpack: some fixes and new stuff (UPDATED)

Here I am presenting a new update of my famous Skinpack!
This time there are a couple of news and some fixes here and there..
The biggest news are:
- Patched software for 1.3.11.0 firmwares
- New Mirrorlink App (EasyConnected)
- A new audio player with internet radio support (SinglePlayer)
- Radio stations Icons for Skin5
- Skinned internet setting in skin2

Once again tnx to our russian friend Alex for this 1.3.11 patched version of the last s100 firmware.
Without his patches most of the s100 new features would not be possible.
To be able to use this patch you need first to update Skinmanager:

1. Delete the old Skinmanager folder from your SD or USB that you normally use for it
2. Put the new version on sdcard and paste the skinstall.code in it as usual.
3. Insert sd\usb and start skinmanager
4. If you had the autoupdate feature enabled in the Skinmanager Settings, it will update itself before starting. If the autoupdate is off, you will need to press the "Updates" icon on bottom left of the SM main screen or use the skintool proper option. 

Once you have SkinManager v2.4 running, you can use skintool to do a Firmware switch to 1.3.11

The new mirrorlink application is called EasyConnected and it is a a lot of more efficient and has less compatibility issues than the standard S100 app.
It work on android 6.0 via usb cable.
There is no need to enable mirrorlink in skinmanager>customizations, just run it from apps.
Running EasyConnect from apps won't allow to use the bluetooth audio.
I'm currently working on a fix that will let the user choose  between the normal mirrorlink app or EasyConnect during the first install.
The choice is not reversible because once you choose EasyConnect, the original MirrorLink will not work anymore and the only way to fix it is to reflash the firmware.

NEWS: After more then a month looking for a way to properly integrate EasyConnect in the S100 software, finally I can announce that now it work properly.
To enable EasyConnect you need to go in Skinmanager->Customization screen, enable mirrorlink as usual and you'll be prompted to choose the standard one or EC.

The new SinglePlayer use  different  libraries for audio decoding and can play internet radio too.
I haven't found a good way yet to make it work as default player and i really didn't spent much time on it but i wanted to include it anyway in the package to let people try it out a bit.

As per request and suggestion, I added support for radio station icons to skin5 (carplay) skin, just like i did for skin2.
A new Radio Editor application is under development that will make easyer to assign the icons, labels and frequencies to the buttons, but for now you still have to use it as before.

P.S. SinglePlayer for now is available only for skin2 and skin5.
