ReplyDeleteI installed the latest March Firmware from Roadnav to see the Canbus changes with Fahrenheit display. They added a C/F selection to the bottom of the Car settings. However, if you select F for Fahrenheit.. the temp does not show in Fahrenheit but add the F instead of a C. So instead of have the temp in Celsius, you have an Fahrenheit temp displaying the Celsius number. They have added some nice Canbus, display screens including tire pressure monitoring. All really nice if you live in a country using Metric system. Would be great if they are able to eventually display in Imperial for the US market.

Any reason to use that updated iGo? If I do use it, do I have to move the files from the GPS card over to the second sdcard?

Hey Kotix. I've noticed an odd problem with the display brightness. I'm not sure if its always been this way or started with installing your ROM, but don't recall this issue before. The screen brightness starts at around 30-40% at boot-up. If I turn on the lights it actually brighten slightly to my 50% setting for night. If I turn the lights back off, the screen brightens to the full daytime 100%. The screen brightness appears to be defaulted very low, until it sensor a lighting change. Could this be a default setting in your ROM? Thoughts?

Hi I have a S160 Model:M263 with the latest version of your firmware, every so often the audio remains low after I have reversed out of my driveway the only way to make it work again is to press the reset button under the map SDcard flap.. is there a way to disable the feature ?

Odd, I have driven many different makes of cars as I travel a lot and use hire vehicles.. none of them sounded this bad in quality. maybe its a hardware issue rather than software?
DeleteHey, I am having the same issue as Unknown above. I can start the truck and put it in reverse and after taking out of reverse, the audio is real low and stays that way. I turn up the volume and it acts like it is going to go up, but remains at same low volume. Also something may be wrong with Real Reboot app that is installed. I soft-rebooted using that app and the radio is staying at the Android boot screen with my radio playing in the background and doing nothing else. I figure I would try to flash the radio again and see if that may correct it.

It actually reboot only the sw and not MCU.
I had the same issue for a while, roadnav released a firmware update a few months back which also included a MCU update, after flashing the new MCU then flashing back to kotix rom I no longer have the problem.

Hi, so i tried flashing your rom with the current firmware, but it didn't work. It just stayed on the black screen and beeped for hours. Had to disconnect the battery, and flash the original firmware to get the head unit to work again.

DeleteI'm having some hard time trying to bring some new stuff in it but the main problem with new firmwares are the bugged MCU.
Roadnav have improved the audio but there are serious canbus problems. So I prefer to wait one more week before releasing my ROM.
Is the new one A00A that's what I have at mo if there anything I can do ? Can we mate sure new radio save names on stations. I await your reply
DeleteYes the canbus fault is in MCU: 01609290 FLASH: A00A, only roadnav can fix it

ReplyDeleteI have an s160 in a 2013 Ram 1500 and when I turn the volume up or down it gets loud and then fades to a lower volume. Its almost as it has a max volume it is set at and will no go any higher. I did a factory reset and it has not helped. It does this for everything radio,bluetooth,dvd. Any ideas?
hi, it's a known mcu problem, we are waiting for a fix from roadnav..
DeleteOne thing that you can try to do to correct it, is go into the music app, start playing a song, pause that song and then back out of the music app and open up radio. Proceed to turn up and down the volume and it should hopefully work correctly. I have a feeling that the music app is also causing this issue besides the MCU problem.

Hi, my rom work on every s160 model. Don't expect that it fix all the problems of the original firmware. They could be MCU related and I cannot do anything about it.

DeleteHola, estaria interesado en comprar la ultima version de ROM, pero me gustaria saber si se pueden conectar TPMS o ODBII a traves del bluetooth para que la reconozcan la aplicaciones, como pasa en el telefono, con estas actualizaciones(ahora solo se puede conectar el telefono a traves del bluetooth, no dispositivos)

El obd se puede conectar poniendo en la s160 lo mismo pin de el obd.
DeleteEl tpms no sé.
He probado tmps y no funciona, el receptor tpms no tiene pin para conectarse a bluetooth, y el equipo no permite dejalo sin codigo. (Es posible quitar el codigo PIN del equipo), existe algun dongle bluetooth compatible que funcione. Gracias

ReplyDeleteI bought a Renault Megane 3 from 2012 and i would like to change audio to S160, but does any one has experience with this one and can you tell me what the boot time is, I read it was over 40 seconds. I do not want to wait that long, I want to start the car and have music within 20 seconds en enter navigation details within 30 seconds.

Hi, yes it work on all s160 models.
DeleteThe flash of the firmware will erase everything but iPod and mirrorlink are still available on my repository.
I cannot provide you maps or navi software. You'll have to make a backup first.

ReplyDeletei have a Peugeot 308sw from 2008. My S160 is a M083. i get no info from the canbus ( for example: left door is open) The canbus decoder is for Peugeot 408. Do i need software for M088 to fix this? Or not possible, and should i try M083 ( i have now version from dec. 2016, but the Kotix rom looks nicer!)
And how do i make a backup from the actualiteit ROM?
I'm sorry but i have no idea which firmware is best for your model. I know that for Peugeot207 some use M088 firmware for canbus compatibility.
Deleteyou should check the differences in the files in wincacfg folder to understand which is best for you.
If you want to flash M088 fw i suggest you to check the lcd type in adset.xml first and mcu starting number.
